Libje is a 24mtr x 4.3m (80'x 14') Dutch Steilsteven barge ('Straight Stem') built in 1930 of riveted steel. She originally carried peat and then sand and gravel.She is an unusual design as she uses the older Steilsteven style hull but with the later 'Luxemotor ' style aft cabin. This would have been the original owners quarters when she was working.
	The interior features original works of art and woodcarvings. Libje is also decorated to give a light and airy atmosphere. The hull, aft accommodation and teak wheelhouse are original, whilst all the guest accommodation area has been completely rebuilt. We have used a blend of the latest technology and traditional hardwood joinery that creates a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Libje features full oil fired central heating throughout plus a wood stove for cosy late autumn evenings.


Libje has two en-suite guest cabins with full central heating. Guest bathrooms have full sized showers, vanity units and push button electrically operated toilets. Guest cabins have full headroom. Both cabins have opening windows as well as skylights fitted with blinds. There is a seperate guest entrance allowing easy access to both the saloon and guest cabins. We also have an on-board washing machine and dryer so you can pack light!

We have concentrated on giving Libje a light and airy feel, and most visitors immediately comment on just how spacious and bright the interior is.
We have full headroom throughout the passenger areas and our decision to only take four guests in 2 en-suite cabins means that you have
plenty of space. Our outdoor seating right across the front of the ship gives the perfect vantage point to soak up the scenery at the quietest point on the ship.
Sitting here watching the views gently wrapping around you as we cruise the waterways and you sip a glass of wine just has to be experienced.
In the event of poorer weather, guests are welcome in the wheelhouse and there is seating right across the rear. The entire upper deck is also available for guests use.
